She is an American Board Certified Ophthalmologist with over 25 years of experience currently practicing in Qatar and Lebanon
Her medical and surgical subspecialty expertise are in the anterior segment of the eye including the external diseases of the eye, the cornea, cataract management and refractive surgery including laser vision correction and phakic intraocular lenses
She was a principal investigator in US FDA clinical trials while at Johns Hopkins University between 1997 and 2005 leading to the approvals of the excimer laser to correct different refractive errors in LASIK surgery
She is experienced in the management of complicated cases of cataract and laser vision correction cases
She is an expert in the medical and surgical management of keratoconus including glasses, contact lenses, corneal cross linking, phakic intraocular lenses and corneal surgeries
She is an expert in dry eye disease management
She is an expert in the different intraocular lenses used in cataract surgery including toric for astigmatic correction, trifocal for multiple distances, extended depth of focus (EDOF) and others
She practiced 10 years at the Wilmer Eye Institute (Johns Hopkins University Medical Center) from 1995 till 2005 where she became Associate Professor Of Ophthalmology
She started practicing in Lebanon since 2006 at the Clemenceau Medical Center affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International where she established the Ophthalmology Department
She has had a teaching position at the American University of Beirut Medical Center since 2010 as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology
She served as the President of the Lebanese Ophthalmological Society between August 2019 and March 2022
She started practicing in Doha Qatar since 2022 and established the Ophthalmology department at Aman Hospital, a private hospital affiliated with Imperial Private HealthCare
